Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Lukas Casto received his AA-T Music and Los Angeles City College before graduating summa cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Music History and Industry and a minor in Professional Writing. With over two decades of experience working in the creative industries, Lukas is currently based in Los Angeles, California, working as an independent audio engineer, freelance musician & songwriter, copywritist, CRM specialist, and early childhood music educator. 

Lukas founded his own music administrative publishing label, LJS Publishing Co., in 2020 and The Indie Independent in 2023. Lukas holds two Instrumental & Guitar Performance accreditations and is an honorary Wilshire Ebell and Herb Alpert Scholar. Lukas also won first prize in the 2021 International Virtual Collegiate Guitar Ensemble Festival, is an Arte Fellowship recipient, Tau Sigma Honors Society member, and served as Treasurer / Secretary for The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. 

As a songwriter, Lukas (ŁJS) uses his skills as a musician to craft emotionally-driven songs surrounding his experiences dealing with personal loss, ostracization, and self-reflection. As a creative entrepreneur, Lukas has effectively learned to combine his professional writing, communication, leadership, and business development skills with his formal music education and long history working in and around the music industry.  

Lukas is proficient in Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro X, RX 10 Advance (and other iZotope software), Native Instruments, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft 365, and his experience includes live mixing, session recording, podcast dialogue editing, copyrighting, administrative music publishing, content creation, and more!
